Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Plumbing / Public Health Engineer in San Francisco, available 2027. You design plumbing, lab/medical gas services and sustainable building systems, collaborating with architects, engineers and clients to deliver integrated solutions.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Mechanical or Architectural Engineering, with an EIT/FE, and memberships (ASPE/ASHRAE/NFPA). CAD skills and internship experience are preferred, reflecting a strong interest in the built

Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Architectural Engineering.
EIT/ FE certification.
Membership in ASPE, ASHRAE, or NFPA.
Courses in sustainability or USGBC participation.
Internship experience in engineering-related firm.
Proven interest in the built environment.
Courses in sustainability or USGBC participation preferred.

Responsibilities

Design of Plumbing and lab/medical gas services within the built environment, with an emphasis on sustainable design.
Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for complex buildings.
Perform engineering calculations and modelling.
Communicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences using various formats, including presentations and workshops.
