Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Plumbing Engineer in Chicago to design plumbing and fire protection systems with an emphasis on sustainability. You will assist in domestic water, sanitary/vent and storm system design, and document your analyses and assumptions clearly.

You will collaborate with clients, architects, engineers and consultants, perform code research and sizing tasks, and document designs in Revit MEP while developing presentation and workshop materials.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in mechanical, architectural, civil, or environmental engineering
• Coursework in fluid hydraulics/piping/fluid dynamics
• Strong collaboration and communication skills
• Ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks

Responsibilities

• Design Plumbing and Fire Protection systems for buildings with focus on sustainable design
• Support domestic water, sanitary/vent, and storm system design
• Assist in fire protection design including sprinkler and standpipe systems
• Create and document engineering analyses, code research, load calculations, sizing
• Document system design in Revit MEP and present findings clearly
• Coordinate with clients, architects, engineers and consultants
