Job summary

The University at Buffalo seeks a Project Staff Assistant for the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program.

In collaboration with the Principal Investigator, you will coordinate learning outcomes through student-centered advisement, counseling, and instruction aligned to graduate admissions needs and success in graduate school. You will support mentorship, maintain records for reporting and evaluation, help with publicity and recruitment, and contribute to campus and community

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in sciences, student personnel, education, counseling, or related field and up to 2 years experience.
• Evidence of a strong commitment to mentoring and working with first generation undergraduate students
• Demonstrated skill in using technology as a management, assessment, and teaching tool.

Responsibilities

• Student advisement and program development through counseling and mentoring.
• Oversee the record-keeping system that collects data required for reporting, planning, development, and evaluation.
• Assist with publicity and recruitment to identify, recruit, and select current and prospective program participants.
• Participate and provide leadership in campus and community service.
