Job summary

University at Buffalo seeks a Project Staff Assistant for the Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program.

The role supports the Principal Investigator in ensuring program success through student-centered advisement, counseling, and instruction aligned to graduate admissions needs. The position emphasizes mentoring first-generation students, rigorous data management, outreach, and active involvement in campus/community service.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from accredited institution in the sciences, student personnel, education, counseling, or related field and upto 2 years experience.
• Evidence of a strong commitment to mentoring and working with first generation undergraduate students
• Demonstrated skill in using technology as a management, assessment, and teaching tool.

Responsibilities

• Provide student advisement and program development to help students prepare for graduate programs.
• Oversee record-keeping systems for official/unofficial reporting, program planning, development, execution, and alumni progress.
• Assist with publicity and recruitment of current and prospective participants.
• Participate and provide leadership in campus and community service.
