Job summary

Freeman Health System is seeking a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Medical Unit's stroke care team to provide comprehensive patient-centered nursing on the night shift. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary staff to monitor and respond to patients' needs in a fast-paced unit.

The role requires completion of RN residency, state licensure (Missouri or compact), ACLS/BLS where indicated, and adherence to orientation timelines.

Qualifications

• Eligible to sit for state boards.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• Must complete RN residency.
• Missouri registered nurse license or compact state license within 90 days after graduation or 30 days after NCLEX.
• Pass Patient Care Orientation within 30 days of hire.
• ACLS certification preferred.
• ASLS preferred but not required.
• ACLS for Advanced Practice within 120 days.
• AHA BLS for Healthcare Providers within 60 days.
• ASLS - Advanced Stroke Life Support within 180 days.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification within 90 days.
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention training within 365 days.
• RN competency review annually by transcript due date.
• Stroke CEU hours 8 per year.

Responsibilities

• Assess physical, emotional, clinical, and psychosocial needs of assigned patients and families.
• Plan and implement interventions and evaluate effectiveness.
• Adjust care plan in a timely manner to provide safe, effective care.
