Job summary

Baptist Health in Birmingham, AL seeks a Graduate Nurse to guide bedside patient care in an acute hospital setting, under supervision. You will assess patient needs, develop and revise plans of care, and collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety and quality outcomes.

Successful candidates are BON authorized, able to obtain NCLEX, and commit to continuing certification such as BLS and ACLS as required by unit standards.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Authorized by the Alabama Board of Nursing as a Graduate Nurse and has a Graduate Nurse letter.
• Authorized to take the NCLEX by the vendor.
• Must obtain RN licensure in Alabama or NLC multistate license within 3 months.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
• ACLS/NRP/PALS/TNCC required for certain areas; NRP for NICU.

Responsibilities

• Administers bedside patient care in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting under supervision.
• Assesses patients’ needs and develops/revises individualized plans of care.
• Respects diversity and builds respectful relationships with the team.
• Acts as advocate for patients and families.
• Provides care appropriate to the patient age on assigned units/departments.
• Communicates and collaborates with medical staff to plan and manage care.
• Demonstrates competency in nursing skills and equipment use.
• Documents patient care meeting regulatory standards.
