Job summary

McLaren is seeking a nursing professional to work under an RN preceptor, completing patient care assignments and ensuring timely attention to patient needs.

The role emphasizes using the nursing process to develop patient problem lists, identify discharge teaching needs, and maintain a safe care environment. Candidates must complete an accredited nursing program and pursue licensure within stated timelines.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited nursing program by start/transfer date.
• Must take Michigan RN licensure exam within 60 days of hire/transfer.
• If RN licensure is not obtained, must apply for another position within 30 days or be terminated.
• BLS or Canadian equivalent by AHAs or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Under supervision of RN preceptor:

1. Completes patient care assignments within a reasonable length of time, meeting the obvious needs of the patient.
2. Contributes to the development of patient problem list using the nursing process:
3. A. achieve established nursing care goals and/or
4. B. prevent further pathophysiology and/or
5. C. correct pathophysiology and/or
6. D. maintain function.
7. Identifies patient’s ongoing and discharge teaching needs.
8. Demonstrates competency and knowledge in performing basic skills. Responds to real or simulated emergency and disaster situations according to established procedure.
9. Maintains a safe patient care environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Successful completion of an accredited school of nursing program by start or transfer date
• Will be required to take the State of Michigan Licensure Examination within 60 days of your hire or transfer date.
• If RN Licensure is not obtained, GN would require employee to apply for and be accepted into another position within thirty (30) days or employment is terminated.
• BLS and/or Canadian equivalent by American Health Association or Red Cross Certification
