Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a part-time Endoscopy nurse to deliver nursing care within the assigned unit, following hospital policies and standards. You will assess patients, document responses, plan and implement care, and teach patients as part of the care plan.

You may oversee ancillary personnel and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams. Required is graduation from an accredited nursing program and Michigan RN licensure.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• ACLS within 6 months for RNs in certain units.
• PALS and TNCC/NRP requirements within specified timelines.

• Deliver nursing care within the unit scope of practice and hospital policies.

Position Summary:

Responsible for the delivery of nursing care within the assigned unit scope of practice following hospital policies and procedures, nursing process guidelines, standards of care, and standards of practice.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Assesses each assigned patient, documents and evaluates their response to plan of care, and takes appropriate corrective action.

Plans and implements the patient’s plan of care/standard of care and provides patient teaching using the plan of care/standard of care.

Oversee all ancillary personnel for technical tasks.

Required:

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Experience in a specialty area will be considered. Experience specific to the unit/position may be required to maintain overall competency level of unit, as required by regulatory agency.
• Current State of Michigan Registered Nurse license.
• Within six months of hire into department, ACLS required for RNs in Critical Care, Emergency, Endoscopy, Cardiac Cath Lab, Cardiac Rehab, Intensive Care Unit and Step-Down, Telemetry Floats. NRP required for RNs in Labor and Delivery; and PALS required for RNs in Pediatrics; PALS and TNCC within one year for the Emergency Department.

Preferred:

• One year of professional nursing experience.
• ACLS preferred in other units.
