Job summary

McLaren Health Care in Michigan is seeking a Registered Nurse under RN preceptor supervision to deliver patient care within a busy hospital unit. You will complete assignments timely, participate in nursing process, identify teaching needs, and maintain a safe environment.

Qualified candidates have completed an accredited nursing program, will sit for the Michigan licensure exam within 60 days, and hold BLS (and/or Canadian equivalent).

Qualifications

• Successful completion of an accredited school of nursing program by start or transfer date.
• Must take the Michigan Licensure Examination within 60 days of hire or transfer date.
• BLS certification or Canadian equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Completes patient care assignments within a reasonable length of time, meeting patient needs.
• Develops patient problem lists using the nursing process to meet care goals.
• Identifies patient’s ongoing and discharge teaching needs.
• Demonstrates competency in basic skills and responds to emergencies per procedures.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment.

Under supervision of RN preceptor completes patient care assignments within a reasonable length of time, meeting the obvious needs of the patient.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

Under supervision of RN preceptor:

• Completes patient care assignments within a reasonable length of time, meeting the obvious needs of the patient.
• Contributes to the development of patient problem list using the nursing process:
  • A.achieve established nursing care goals and/or
  • B.prevent further pathophysiology and/or
  • C.correct pathophysiology and/or
  • D.maintain function.
• Identifies patient’s ongoing and discharge teaching needs.
• Demonstrates competency and knowledge in performing basic skills. Responds to real or simulated emergency and disaster situations according to established procedure.
• Maintains a safe patient care environment.

Qualifications:

Required:

• Successful completion of an accredited school of nursing program by start or transfer date
• Will be required to take the State of Michigan Licensure Examination within 60 days of your hire or transfer date.

If RN Licensure is not obtained, GN would require employee to apply for and be accepted into another position within thirty (30) days or employment is terminated.

• BLS and/or Canadian equivalent by American Health Association or Red Cross Certification
