Job summary

Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL) is seeking engineers and scientists to join the Maritime Force Engagement Control group. You'll work on simulations of naval capabilities and advanced data analytics to strengthen defensive capabilities of U.S.

Navy ships. Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Engineering/Math/Physics, have experience with C++ or Python, and can obtain an Interim Secret clearance with potential for Top Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in CS/Engineering/Math/Physics or related field.
• Demonstrated internship, research or similar experience.
• Proficiency with either C++ or Python.
• Experience creating object oriented software.
• Strong interpersonal and communications skills.
• Ability to obtain Interim Secret clearance with potential Top Secret eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Create sophisticated simulations of Naval capabilities and adversarial systems paired with ML technologies.
• Create data analytic and statistical tools to analyze complex systems and root cause performance issues.
• Assist in development, test and analysis of innovative advancements to command and control systems.
• Implement and refine novel algorithms to increase performance of shipboard defenses.
• Communicate technical recommendations to leadership and sponsors.
