Job summary

The Graduate Assistant for Women’s Leadership Initiative at Dominican University in River Forest, IL, provides support to the Assistant Director of TRIO and helps develop, coordinate, execute and evaluate the initiative. The GA position is an academic year appointment, up to 20 hours per week.

The GA will collaborate with multiple university departments, mentor a cohort of students, plan workshops and a leadership symposium, and contribute to program development and assessment.

Qualifications

• Ten-month term with September 2026–June 2027 start window.
• Currently enrolled in a graduate program at least part-time.
• Preference for 1 year of leadership program experience.
• Experience with leadership development for marginalized communities.
• Position open to external candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning a Leadership Symposium in the Fall semester.
• Develop a comprehensive leadership program for eligible scholarship recipients.
• Mentor a small cohort of second-year undergraduates in leadership development.
• Facilitate monthly mentor/mentee check-ins with WLI cohort.
• Logistics and planning of monthly leadership workshops.
• Assist in facilitation and execution of workshops.
• Establish connections with other departments and collaborate on joint efforts.
• Perform other duties as requested.
