Job summary

Case Western Reserve University is seeking a Graduate IT Assistant in the Biochemistry Department to provide hardware and software support, troubleshoot PCs/printers, and assist with AV setups and departmental web maintenance. The role includes setting up new PCs/printers, and supporting Unix systems, with Windows/macOS familiarity as a plus.

The position is part-time, 10 hours per week, with an hourly rate of $15. This student employment opportunity supports the School of Medicine.

Qualifications

Provides general hardware and software support.
Troubleshoots PC/printer problems and software programs.
Sets up new PCs and printers with needed software/drivers.
Assists with audio visual equipment setups, operation and maintenance.
Familiarity with Unix operating systems; Windows and macOS knowledge is a plus.

Responsibilities

Provide general hardware and software support; troubleshoot PC/printer problems and software programs.
Set up new PCs and printers downloading needed software/drivers.
Assist with audio visual equipment set ups, operation, and maintenance.
Assist department in keeping new monitor running; update as necessary.
Assist with departmental web site development and maintenance.
Assist with Unix operating systems.
Familiarity with both Windows and Apple operating systems would be a plus.
Prepare backups for PCs, and other duties as assigned.
