Job summary

Butler University in Indianapolis seeks a Graduate Coordinator for Returning Student Communities to support sophomore and junior residents, promote wellbeing, and facilitate successful transitions after residence. The role combines direct student interaction with program coordination and on-call duties on campus.

This position requires a graduate student with strong interpersonal and communication skills, good judgment, and the ability to respond effectively to crises. On-site work is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be currently pursuing a graduate degree at an accredited institution.
• Demonstrated interpersonal skills and experience with college students.
• Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form.
• Ability to exercise sound judgment in decision making and crisis situations.
• Ability to handle stressful situations with composure.

Responsibilities

• Support student growth and development, including roommate mediation and fostering wellbeing.
• Coordinate programming for sophomore and junior residents living on campus.
• Maintain regular contact with residents and document concerns.
• Coordinate an annual off-campus housing fair and housing transitions.
• Provide on-call response to emergencies and collaborate with campus resources.
• Maintain accurate records on occupancy, changes, and facilities concerns.
• Support all building tasks and work with Butler Facilities and ACC.
