Job summary

Austin Water, a department of the City of Austin, seeks a Graduate Engineer A to support design, field inspections, and project documentation in the Water Reuse Programs team. You will work under a Professional Engineer to gain licensure credits while contributing to practical engineering tasks.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and will collaborate with engineers, contractors, and city staff to ensure plans meet specifications and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Engineering or related field.
• Strong ability to perform engineering calculations and analyze problems.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and maintenance of design drawings, diagrams, charts, databases, plans and permits under supervision.
• Develop proposals, preliminary and final designs, design criteria for projects.
• Coordinate information with stakeholders and respond to questions or complaints.
