Job summary

Austin Water is seeking a Graduate Engineer A to work onsite in the Water Reuse Program. Under supervision, you’ll perform routine engineering tasks to meet licensure experience requirements, supporting design, field inspection, and cost estimation activities.

The role emphasizes basic engineering knowledge, drafting, documentation, and coordination with engineers and contractors to ensure project compliance and progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Strong knowledge of engineering and design principles and mathematical techniques.
• Ability to prepare design calculations, reports and technical documents.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparation and maintenance of design drawings, diagrams, charts, databases, plans and permits under supervision.
• Develop proposals, preliminary and final designs, and design criteria for assigned projects.
• Coordinate information with engineers, construction personnel, and stakeholders; respond to questions and concerns.
• Prepare cost estimates and participate in budget and schedule development.
• Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
