Job summary

City of Farmers Branch is seeking a Graduate Engineer (Engineering in Training) for an entry-level role in public works. The position focuses on plan reviews, citizen requests, and providing technical services to contractors and developers.

You will support senior staff with engineering design, technical documentation, and project management of in-house public works projects, and perform related duties as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from ABET-accredited program.
• EIT certification preferred.
• Knowledge of civil engineering principles, codes, and design standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide highly technical staff assistance to the City Engineer and other staff in public works tasks.
• Provide customer service and technical support to contractors and developers.
• Read and interpret plans and specs, analyze problems, and communicate recommendations in writing and verbally.
