Job summary

Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD, seeks innovative graduates to join the Weapon Control Concepts Development Group for advanced national security programs.

You will conduct modeling and simulation, develop AI/ML-based concepts, and prototype capabilities for Navy/Missile Defense/Air Force systems. Strong programming skills (MATLAB, C++, C, Python) and clearance eligibility are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics or similar.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, C++, C, Python, etc.
• Eligible to obtain Interim Secret clearance by start date with eventual Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct modeling and simulation analysis for US Missile Defense systems.
• Identify defensive systems gaps and develop new concepts to enhance defense capabilities.
• Implement algorithms and design modeling components for systems.
• Develop AI/ML-based concepts and data fusion for tracking and discrimination.
• Communicate technical recommendations to leadership and sponsors.
