Job summary

Halff, a full-service infrastructure firm, seeks new graduates (Dec 2026 or May 2027) for a Graduate Civil Engineer in Tyler, TX. Focus on transportation design for roadway/highway projects with growth toward ownership in the firm.

You will design under a Professional Engineer, learn MicroStation/OpenRoads, and contribute to permit applications, meetings, and regulatory documents while developing teamwork and communication skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering or ABET-accredited equivalent.
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Driving Record.
  • Ability to obtain an EIT certificate within one year.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • 0–3 years of experience in Transportation Design for roadway/highway projects.
  • Experience in MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer.
  • Knowledge of roadway and drainage modules.

Responsibilities

  • Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer.
  • Perform schematic design work.
  • Perform calculations and analysis for design projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of permit applications and other regulatory documents.
  • Coordinate with other team members, including surveyors and contractors.
  • Attend meetings with clients and regulatory agencies.

Halff is seeking New Graduates who will graduate in December 2026 or May 2027 for a Graduate Civil Engineer in our Tyler, TX location. The position will be for a General Civil Engineer interested in Transportation Design for roadway & highway design projects. What You Will Do
  • Design civil engineering projects under the direct supervision of a Professional Engineer

What You Will Need
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Master’s Degree in Civil Engineering or ABET accredited equivalent Engineering degree
  • Valid Driver’s License and acceptable Driving Record

  • Solid relationship and team building skills
  • Self-motivated and strong organization skills
  • 0 to 3 years of experience in Transportation Design for roadway & highway design projects
  • Experience in MicroStation and/or OpenRoads Designer
  • Knowledge of applicable roadway and drainage modules
