Job summary

Arup is seeking a Graduate Electrical Engineer in Austin to design power distribution, lighting, and grounding for buildings and infrastructure. You will perform short circuit studies, lighting calculations with AGI, and assign circuitry while developing technical reports.

Joining a multidisciplinary team, you will work with other disciplines and vendors, gain exposure to Revit MEP and SKM, and grow through a supportive learning environment with strong place-based focus in Texas.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similar; EIT/FE preferred
• Interest in power systems within buildings and infrastructure projects
• Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly in writing and in person
• Demonstrated initiative, creative problem-solving, and teamwork
• Strong planning, organizing, and prioritization skills
• Experience with Revit MEP, SKM, or AGI is a plus

Is this role right for you?

• EIT/ FE certification preferred
• Coursework in building systems design, electrical power systems design, control systems, electric machines, and codes and standards preferred
• Internship experience in a consulting firm with emphasis on buildings electrical power system design preferred
• Demonstrated interest in sustainability asevidencedby extracurricular activities,etcpreferred
• Academic research, coursework, or other experience with alternative energy systems and other technologies new to the construction industrypreferred
• Experience with Revit MEP, AGI 32, SKM Power Toolspreferred
• Experience with automation or machine learningpreferred
• Proven ability to perform in a deadline situation preferred
• Evidence of teamwork and leadership such as professional accomplishment or honor society preferred

• Candidate must be eligible to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsored work authorization now or in the future
• No more than 12 months of full-time experience in a comparable role
• Recently graduated, or on track to graduate, from your most recent degree, related to your role of choice, before employment starts

Austin Hiring Range – Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Austin is $73,500 to $80,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Austin will differ.
