Job summary

Arup seeks a Graduate Mechanical Engineer in Seattle to design HVAC systems for sustainable buildings, performing whole-building load and energy analyses and documenting designs in Revit MEP. You will collaborate with clients, architects and engineers to develop integrated, high-performance solutions.

Ideal candidates hold a mechanical/architectural/civil/environmental engineering degree, have energy/thermal modeling or CFD experience, and can code with Dynamo/Python/Grasshopper.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical, Architectural, Civil or Environmental Engineering.
• Passed Fundamentals of Engineering examination; Membership in ASHRAE, USGBC, ASME.
• Coursework in Energy/thermal modeling experience, Revit or 3D modeling experience and/or sustainability.
• Advanced computational modeling (e.g., CFD).
• Computer programming languages (e.g., Dynamo, Python, Grasshopper).
• AutoCAD or Revit drafting skills preferred.
• Internship experience in engineering-related firm preferred

Our team consists of more than 20 mechanical engineers who support a diverse portfolio of projects across the healthcare, commercial properties, and data center sectors. We provide HVAC design and engineering services throughout all phases of project delivery, from planning and conceptual design through construction support. Our work includes system analysis, load calculations, energy-efficient design solutions, construction documentation, and coordination with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver reliable, high-performance building systems.

The opportunity

• Design of Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) services within the built environment, with an emphasis on sustainable design
• Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and consultants to develop integrated solutions for complex buildings
• Perform engineering analysis and modelling, including whole building load calculations and energy analysis, façade thermal analysis, and airflow modelling.
• Document system design in Revit MEP
• Communicate technical ideas to a broad range of audiences using various formats, including presentations and workshops

Is this role right for you?

Seattle Hiring Range – Hiring Range - The good faith base salary hiring range for this job if performed in Seattle is $76,500 to $83,500 per year. This range is commensurate with experience, educational background, and skill level. Benefits are not included in the base salary. Please note hiring ranges for candidates performing work outside of Seattle will differ.
