Job summary

Harvard Medical School is seeking a Manager of Financial Planning and Operations within the Office for Graduate Education. The role leads budgeting, financial reporting, and day-to-day financial operations across HMS master's and PhD programs, partnering with program leadership to ensure stewardship of resources and strong internal controls.

You'll supervise the Finance Coordinator, coordinate with Sponsored Programs and Student Funding, and drive process improvements in budgeting,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years’ relevant work experience.
• MBA or Master’s degree in relevant field.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and advanced Excel.
• Demonstrated experience with financial systems and data query tools.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary financial contact for assigned programs.
• Develop annual operating budgets with program leadership.
• Prepare monthly financial reports for program leadership.
• Oversee day-to-day financial administration of program portfolios.
• Coordinate fiscal year-end close activities.
