Job summary

Harvard Medical School’s Office for Graduate Education seeks an Assistant Director of Sponsored Programs to oversee the administration of externally funded graduate education programs. You will advise faculty and lead sponsorship activities, reporting to the Director of Financial Operations.

In this role you will mentor two Senior Grants Managers, develop SOPs, manage complex budgets and ensure sponsor compliance across NIH training grants and foundation awards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years in sponsored research administration.
• Advanced knowledge of sponsored research regulations.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day administration of sponsored awards and ensure compliance.
• Mentor two Senior Grants Managers and set priorities.
• Manage lifecycle of awards including budgets, reporting, and closeout.
• Develop SOPs, internal controls, and assign resource needs.
• Collaborate with HMS and university partners to resolve issues.
