Job summary

Harvard Medical School’s Department of Health Care Policy seeks a Director of Finance to lead all financial operations, reporting to the Executive Director. You will manage budgets, forecast financial performance, and guide strategic decisions while ensuring compliance with sponsor and university policies.

The role oversees a team of grant managers and financial staff, coordinating with central offices and external sponsors to support HMS initiatives and programmatic goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 8 years’ relevant work experience.
• Advanced knowledge of sponsored research regulations.
• Supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all department finances and financial operations.
• Manage annual operating budget and strategic forecasts.
• Lead a team of 4-6 grant managers and financial staff.
• Liaise with HMS OoF, ORA, and external sponsors.
