Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Graduate Engineer to join our Water Resources team.

You will support a licensed Civil Engineer, learn the company’s practices, and contribute to design, analyses, and documentation on public infrastructure projects. You will develop proficiency in design software, perform calculations, prepare plans and specifications, and assist with project management tasks while pursuing your Professional Engineer license.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering (or equivalent)
Engineer-in-Training certificate or ability to obtain within 6–12 months
Proficiency with Civil3D, MicroStation, Open Roads, HEC-RAS, and related software
Strong teamwork and communication skills

Responsibilities

Assist project team in design of public infrastructure work
Provide technical, day-to-day design support to the Project Engineer, including drafting support for plan production activities
Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and utility evaluations
Prepare drawings and visual aids
Prepare exhibits and design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, MicroStation, Open Roads, HEC RAS or similar software
Follow internal QA/QC procedures and standards
Observe construction activities and learn construction methods and translation of drawings into constructed products
Coordinate with agency staff and internal support teams on designs, analyses, and issues
Develop calculations in Excel, reports and letters in Word, and presentations in PowerPoint
Other duties as assigned
