Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Graduate Engineer to join our Water Resources team.

You will support a licensed Civil Engineer, learn the company’s practices, and contribute to design, analyses, and documentation on public infrastructure projects. You will develop proficiency in design software, perform calculations, prepare plans and specifications, and assist with project management tasks while pursuing your Professional Engineer license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or environmental engineering (or equivalent)
• Engineer-in-Training certificate or ability to obtain within 6–12 months
• Proficiency with Civil3D, MicroStation, Open Roads, HEC-RAS, and related software
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Assist project team in design of public infrastructure work
• Provide technical, day-to-day design support to the Project Engineer, including drafting support for plan production activities
• Prepare engineering reports, feasibility studies, and utility evaluations
• Prepare drawings and visual aids
• Prepare exhibits and design drawings using AutoCAD Civil3D, Bluebeam, MicroStation, Open Roads, HEC RAS or similar software
• Follow internal QA/QC procedures and standards
• Observe construction activities and learn construction methods and translation of drawings into constructed products
• Coordinate with agency staff and internal support teams on designs, analyses, and issues
• Develop calculations in Excel, reports and letters in Word, and presentations in PowerPoint
• Other duties as assigned

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Civil Graduate Engineer to join our Water Resources team.

In this role, you are expected to work on a team providing support to a licensed Civil Engineer while learning the company’s standard practices and local agency codes. As part of our Public Infrastructure team, you will be dedicated to becoming proficient in Design Software, performing technical calculations, preparing plans and specifications, and assisting with other project management and engineering tasks. In pursuit of a Professional Engineering license, the applicant must be organized, self-motivated, and able to collaboratively solve complex issues on time and within budget.

Expected start date: January 2026 or May/June 2027

Requirements

Job Requirements:

• Assist project team in design of public infrastructure work
