Job summary

South College in Pittsburgh (Online) campus is seeking a Career Services Advisor to join the Student Affairs Department. This is a full-time, on-campus role focused on career placement and student support.

Responsibilities include helping graduates secure employment, coordinating with employers, conducting mock interviews, resume guidance, and planning career services seminars for graduates and the public. Join a growing institution committed to student success.

Qualifications

• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
• Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
• Ability to analyze and solve problems.
• Skill in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
• Ability to develop and present Career Services workshops.

Responsibilities

• Assist all graduates in securing in-field/related field employment to meet placement benchmarks.
• Work with industry/businesses to determine present and future employment needs and generate interest in South College graduates.
• Coordinate job placements with prospective employers, determine job descriptions, and recommend graduates for interviews; follow up on placement.
• Meet with students to provide resources and assistance with mock interviewing, resume and cover letter writing, and job search strategies.
• Assist in planning career services seminars for graduates, alumni, and the general public.
• Maintain an electronic file for each graduate with required employment documentation; enter placement information in the student database.
• Maintain statistics on graduate employment long-term and short-term.
• Survey and compile annual statistics for graduates and employers on job satisfaction.
• Coordinate on-campus job fairs and attend community/high school career fairs as requested.
• Report to supervisor weekly on employment status of graduates and office activities.
• Serve on college committees as designated.
