Job summary

Miami University in Oxford, OH, invites applications for a part-time Graduate Student Employee in the Career Development Team for Exploratory Studies. The role supports the Assistant Director and Liaison to Exploratory Studies, conducting small group sessions and advising appointments while engaging in qualitative and quantitative research on student development theories.

The position follows a shadow/lead model, requires current graduate enrollment, and offers on-campus work with up to 10 hours

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a graduate/master's program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
• Comfort with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Forms).
• Ability to manage multiple projects and work independently.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead/lead weekly small group sessions for students exploring their major options.
• Email students reminders about Exploratory career advising opportunities.
• Send congratulatory emails to students who have declared their major.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data on exploratory studies students’ experiences.
• Shadow then co-lead exploratory career advising appointments.
• Prepare for information sessions and career advising appointments.
• Take student notes from sessions and 1:1 appointments.
• Meet with campus partners to coordinate efforts.
• Support planning and execution of large workshops/events.
