Job summary

Miami University in Oxford, Ohio seeks a motivated graduate student for the Career Exploration and Success team. This internship supports the Assistant Director and Liaison to Exploratory Studies by helping run small group sessions and career advising appointments while connecting theory to practice.

The role emphasizes qualitative and quantitative research on exploratory studies students, shadowing and co-leading sessions, and coordinating workshops, with up to 10 hours weekly on campus.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Graduate/Masters Program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skill and attention to detail.
• Comfortability with Google Workspace: Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Forms.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead/lead weekly small group sessions for students exploring their major options.
• Email students reminders about Exploratory career advising opportunities.
• Send congratulatory emails to students who have declared their major.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data on exploratory studies students’ experience in sessions and 1:1 advising.
• Shadow then co-lead exploratory career advising appointments.
• Prepare for information sessions and career advising appointments.
• Take student notes from sessions and 1:1 advising.
• Meet with campus partners and support planning of large workshops/events.
