Miami University Alumni Association seeks a graduate student to support Exploratory Studies career advising. The role involves co-leading small group sessions, assisting with career appointments, and conducting qualitative and quantitative research on student populations.

The position emphasizes applying career development theory to practice, reflecting in sessions and assessments, with supervised 1:1 time and opportunities to contribute to workshops.

Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in a Graduate/Masters Program.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Sheets, Forms).
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Co-lead/lead weekly small group sessions for students exploring their major options.
• Email students reminders about Exploratory career advising opportunities.
• Send congratulatory emails to students who have declared their major.
• Analyze qualitative and quantitative data on exploratory studies students’ experience in small group sessions and in 1:1 career advising.
• Shadow then co-lead exploratory career advising appointments.
• Prepare for information sessions and career advising appointments.
• Take student notes from sessions and 1:1 advising.
• Meet with campus partners.
• Support planning and implementation of large workshops/events.
