Qualifications

• Must be a degree-seeking graduate student at JSU.
• Active enrollment in a graduate degree program at JSU during the assistantship.
• New students must be admitted to a degree program.
• Must enroll in 6–9 graduate semester hours as applicable.
• Must meet the minimum GPA requirement for the program.
• Must complete FERPA and Sexual Harassment trainings and other JSU trainings.
• International graduate assistants must be certified to perform duties and receive compensation.

Responsibilities

• Assist in setup, configuration, and operation of AV equipment for campus events and academic functions.
• Provide on-site AV support during events to ensure systems function properly.
• Troubleshoot and resolve basic AV equipment issues to ensure smooth event execution.
• Assist with setup and breakdown of event spaces and equipment per requirements.
• Transport AV equipment safely to/from event locations and manage storage.
• Maintain inventory records and organize equipment to meet department needs.
• Provide general classroom and event technology support as assigned.

Education

Graduate student status at JSU

Active enrollment in graduate program

Admitted to degree program (new students)

Enrollment in 6–9 graduate credit hours

Minimum GPA requirement

Compliance with trainings (FERPA, Sexual Harassment)

International student certification for duties
