University of North Carolina Wilmington is seeking a Graduate Admissions Specialist to provide comprehensive support for graduate admissions, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and exceptional service to prospective students.

The role manages application workflows, maintains data integrity across systems, and serves as the first contact for applicants, representing UNCW’s Graduate School.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
• Bachelor’s degree and experience in higher education.
• Knowledge in Ellucian Banner or other student information system.
• Experience with Technolutions Slate or similar application management system.
• Accuracy and attention to detail in a busy office environment.
• Ability to interpret academic policies and procedures.
• Excellent verbal and written skills.

Responsibilities

• Monitor applications and materials throughout the admissions cycle.
• Update and verify student data between admissions systems; escalate complex cases.
• Communicate with prospective students about program details and status updates.
• Use Slate system facets, workflows, forms, queries, and templates.
• Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information and protect records.
