Job description

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. The equipment operator for grading operates and maintains various pieces of equipment. On occasion this position may deliver material outside of Sunrock facilities.
2. Operates heavy equipment such as: bull dozer, excavator, roller, and backhoe.
3. Read plans on site and check grade according to site plan.
4. Operate/drive equipment to excavate, move, and grade earth, concrete, asphalt, or other hard surface pavement on road beds and dirt/earth surfaces in a safe manner.
5. This position may perform other duties on the crew as needed.
6. The operator is responsible for pre and post checks, daily maintenance, and keeping the equipment clean and ready for daily operation.
7. Complete written report of problems or necessary repairs and forward to maintenance personnel. Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, defective materials, and unusual conditions to proper supervision.
8. Follow prescribed safety rules and regulations.

Required Skills

• Valid North Carolina Driver’s License is preferred.

Required Experiences

• EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of related experience and/or training.
