Job summary

Fred Smith Company in Raleigh, NC is seeking an experienced Grade Foreman to lead field crews on heavy civil site work including grading, water/sewer/storm drain, and asphalt paving. The role is on-site and requires ensuring safety, quality, and productivity.

You will manage crew and equipment, review plans, schedule tasks, and coordinate with subcontractors and inspectors to keep projects on track. Valid driver's license and pre-employment screen are required.

Qualifications

• Minimum Of 2 Years' Experience As a Foreman.
• Previous self-perform experience with grading and site work operations, water/sewer/storm drain construction, asphalt paving.
• Experience with plans and crew and equipment scheduling.
• Valid drivers license with positive driving history
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen

Responsibilities

• Manage the crew and equipment on all assigned projects.
• Maintain logs, daily reports and time records.
• Ensure compliance with safety policies and procedures.
• Lead daily JSA meetings and weekly Toolbox Talks.

Fred Smith Company is currently searching for experienced Grade Foreman for the Raleigh area. We are a heavy civil contractor working in the commercial site work, public infrastructure and asphalt markets in North Carolina.

Basic Duties

• Responsible for the safe and efficient management of the crew and equipment on all assigned projects.
• Maintain all logs, daily reports and ensure that all time records are accurately entered each day.
• Ensure that personnel and sub-contractors are complying with company safety policies and procedures.
• Perform daily JSA meetings with the project teams and conduct weekly Toolbox Talks.
• Assist and direct crews in the use of equipment and resources.
• Manage quality of work, productivity and costs associated with the project.
• Maintain good relations with the public, engineers, inspectors and the customer.
