Job summary

Amazon GPV is seeking a Risk Manager II to own risk programs across GPV, defining problems, creating mitigation strategies, and delivering controls to keep risk within tolerance. You’ll partner with engineering, Legal, and regional teams to scale operations and improve the customer experience.

The role emphasizes leading risk projects, measuring performance, and mentoring teams while leveraging data-driven decisions to drive efficiency and cost reductions across the organization.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of managing food safety and quality in a large-scale retail or manufacturing environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Food Science or related field.
• Knowledge of retail food code and regulations governing grocery retail at local, state, and federal levels.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
• Experience handling confidential information.
• Experience interacting with local food safety regulators.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive risk programs end-to-end with mitigation solutions.
• Measure processes and controls to inform risk assessments.
• Identify KPIs and define success metrics where missing.
• Track team performance and QA goals with corrective actions.
• Support leadership with communications and updates.
• Contribute to program documentation and escalation responses.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and leverage AI for efficiency.
• Educate partner teams on risk and regulatory environment.
• Manage schedules, resolve blockers, and accelerate progress.
• Collaborate with leadership to drive upstream improvements in customer experience.
