Job summary

Flexcompute is hiring a Software Engineer for the Tidy3D infrastructure team to own the platform. You will build new capability, keep the existing system healthy, and run the release and deployment process.

Responsibilities include designing backend services, managing deployment pipelines, and ensuring production health with monitoring and cost control across multi-tenant environments.

Qualifications

• 2+ years building and operating production cloud services.
• Strong Python skills for backend services.
• Experience with AWS, Docker and Kubernetes in production environments.
• Infrastructure as code in production, ideally Terraform.
• Fluent Linux operating in production.

Responsibilities

• Design and build backend services for the Tidy3D platform.
• Own the release pipeline: versioning, CI/CD, staged rollout, rollback.
• Manage deployment and packaging to PyPI and ensure client-backend version compatibility.
• Instrument the platform, monitor, and respond to incidents; control cloud costs.
