Job summary

Flexcompute Inc. is pioneering high-performance engineering simulation with Flow360 and Tidy3D. We seek a Backend Software Engineer to craft scalable backend systems for our EM simulation platform, emphasizing HPC, cloud integration, and robust API design.

The role covers back-end service development, distributed systems, and container-based deployment in a fast-growing startup environment. Bachelor's required; NYC location with on-site work.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science or computer engineering.
• Experience building backend systems using Java, Python and/or C++.
• Strong experience with AWS or similar cloud platforms and infrastructure automation.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to API unification, simulation data management, and scripting improvements.
• Collaborate with EM and infrastructure teams to back-end/scheduler integrations and Python front-end functionality.
• Improve web API design for distributed simulation workloads and job orchestration.
• Develop and maintain hybrid cloud compute/storage solutions, integrating on-prem HPC with cloud platforms.
• Optimize HPC clusters and high-speed interconnects.
