Flexcompute is a cutting-edge technology startup specializing in ultra-fast simulation software. We seek a mid-level software engineer to join our Wisconsin-based engineering team, building scalable backend services and collaboration platforms.

You will work across cloud-native infrastructure, workspaces, and AI-enabled workflows, collaborating with engineers, product leaders, and simulation experts to shape next-generation engineering software.

Qualifications

• 3 to 6 years of professional software engineering experience.
• Proficiency in Python, C++, Rust, Go, Java, or JavaScript.
• Experience building backend systems, APIs, or distributed services.
• Comfort with Linux development environments and Git workflows.
• Ability to drive projects independently and collaborate across teams.
• Degree in a technical field.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services, APIs, and platform infrastructure.
• Develop features for engineering workspaces and collaborative workflows.
• Improve scalability, reliability, and performance of cloud systems.
• Support AI infrastructure, tooling initiatives, and ML workflows.
• Enhance developer tooling, automation, and deployment systems.
• Collaborate across software, infrastructure, and simulation teams.
• Contribute to visualization and interactive engineering experiences.
