Job summary

ASRC Federal System Solutions (AFSS) seeks a Systems Administrator to support the GPS Control Segment Sustainment at Cape Canaveral SFS, FL. The role requires onsite work with potential second shift hours and on-call rotations to ensure 24/7 coverage.

You will maintain Linux/Windows systems, implement STIGs, manage backups, and coordinate software installs. Strong communication and independence are essential for collaboration with DoD personnel and contractors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
• 9+ years professional experience, or 7+ years with a related Master’s degree.
• DoD 8570/8140 baseline certification for IAT Level II or equivalent (e.g., Security+, SSCP, CCNA-Security); up to 6 months to obtain if needed.

Responsibilities

• Implement, maintain and support Linux and Windows OS and hardware.
• Coordinate software installations and upgrades for GCS OS/COTS and database packages.
• Monitor DoD security alerts and apply patches as appropriate.
• Hardening per STIG; perform vulnerability scans and document IA actions.
• Backup/Restore/Disaster Recovery and system monitoring.
• Troubleshoot HW/SW issues to restore testing operations.
• Assist with site security, COMSEC duties, asset accountability and calibration logistics.
