Job summary

Emery Sapp & Sons, Inc. (ESS) seeks a Surveying Intern to join its GPS team in Springfield, MO.

You’ll learn on-the-job surveying techniques, practice with GPS rovers and total stations, and gain exposure to field-to-office workflows on major infrastructure projects. Ideal candidates are studying Construction Management or surveying-related fields, with a willingness to train and grow into full-time roles like Surveying Technician or Project position.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; training provided.
• Familiarity with surveying practices and construction industry is a plus.
• Candidate must be willing to train and grow within ESS culture.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate surveying instruments.
• Calibrate GPS rovers and machine control.
• Handle construction layout from plans and record data.
• Provide topographic and cross-section surveys as needed.
• Coordinate surveying with jobsite and operations teams.
• Maintain safety and professional conduct on site.
