Job summary

Knife River Corporation in Bryan, TX is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator to safely operate graders and related machinery to grade specifications. You will perform daily maintenance and safety checks, support loading/unloading, and stockpiling operations while following stringent safety standards.

Candidate must have experience with GPS blade equipment, heavy road construction work, and a strong safety mindset. Willingness to work overtime and outdoors in all weather is required.

Qualifications

• Experience with GPS Blade Equipment.
• Experience with equipment maintenance & operation.
• Experience with heavy road construction work.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Background/MVR checks per Knife River-South employment standards.
• Ability to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime).
• Ability to work outside in all seasons.
• Must have a safety-first attitude and strictly follow safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Operate heavy equipment in a safe and proper manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks on equipment.
• Lubricate, fuel and clean equipment as required.
• Maneuver equipment for loading/unloading and assist loading crew as needed.
• Use equipment for grading, finishing, sloping, backfilling and stockpiling.
• Operate on public roadways with awareness of surroundings.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and discuss production problems with team.
