Knife River Corporation in Bryan, TX is seeking a skilled heavy equipment operator to safely operate graders and related machinery to grade specifications. You will perform daily maintenance and safety checks, support loading/unloading, and stockpiling operations while following stringent safety standards.

Candidate must have experience with GPS blade equipment, heavy road construction work, and a strong safety mindset. Willingness to work overtime and outdoors in all weather is required.

Responsabilités

ROLE OVERVIEW:

Responsible to safely operate grader to spread and level dirt, gravel and stone to grade specification.

DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES (summary of components that make up the job)

• Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner.
• Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment.
• Safely and properly perform maintenance (lubricating, fueling and cleaning) on equipment.
• Maneuver heavy equipment into loading or unloading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned.
• Use various pieces of equipment to perform fine grading and finishing, sloping and banking, backfilling, demolition, ditching, loading, excavating and stockpiling.
• Operate equipment on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of one's surroundings.
• Perform routine cleaning and maintenance to ensure smooth operation of the equipment.
• Troubleshoot and problem solve situations/problems (equipment operation/repair, etc.). Monitor and discuss production problems with co-workers and managers/supervisors.
• Ensure MSHA, OSHA, EPA, DNR, safety and environmental regulation compliance.
• Perform other construction related duties as required.
• Timely and regular attendance is an essential requirement.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (minimum educational, experience, or other relevant job requirements)-Experience with GPS Blade Equipment.

• Experience with equipment maintenance & operation.
• Experience with heavy road construction work.
• Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen and physical.
• Must meet Knife River-South employment standards with regards to background/MVR checks.
• Must be able to work overtime and be flexible with hours (daytime/nighttime).
• Ability to work outside in all seasons.
