Job summary

Acloché LLC is seeking an Audit Director with State and Local Government specialization to lead complex engagements, develop staff, and drive firm growth. This role emphasizes maintaining client relationships, supervising multiple audits, and guiding engagement teams through GAAS, GAGAS, and Uniform Guidance frameworks.

The Director will coordinate with partners, participate in business development, and travel as needed to client sites while ensuring high-quality deliverables and staff

Qualifications

• Approximately 10 years in public accounting, with at least 2 years in a senior manager role and strong government experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• Current CPA license.
• Ability to travel to clients and firm locations.
• Proven track record of bringing in new business for the firm.
• Extensive experience auditing under GAGAS/Yellow Book, GAAS, and the Uniform Guidance.
• Ability to direct, review, and train department staff.
• Experience auditing not-for-profit organizations.

Responsibilities

• Maintains ongoing client contact and understands client operations and control systems.
• Reports to or acts as engagement partner on engagements.
• Signs attest opinions when assigned as engagement partner.
• Oversees all phases of engagements and ensures deliverables meet accounting framework and firm policy.
• Keeps Partner informed of important developments and resolves issues with Partner input.
• Ensures engagements are properly scheduled and staffed.
• Serves as SME in governmental sector and guides staff.
• Monitors billing and collections by engagement teams.
• Supervises staff and reviews engagement work papers and reports.
• Plays a key role in staff performance evaluations and development.
• Participates in recruitment and interviews Assurance and Advisory candidates.
• Leads new business development and communicates with prospective clients, including fee estimates.
• Ensures compliance with firm-wide policies and procedures.
