Government Transportation Safety Representative

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position.

As a(n) Government Transportation Account, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  1. Achieving Sales Goals and Objectives
  2. Government Sales, State, County, City DOT, and Toll authority
  3. Calling on customers within assigned area or accounts
  4. Responsible for Commercial Key account Representation
  5. Participate, Present, and sell at trade shows
  6. Develop and implement effective sales plans
  7. Prepare administrative reports and presentations

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  1. Bachelor’s degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited university
  2. Minimum three (3) years of outside sales experience in a private, public, government or military environment

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  1. Master's degree in Business Administration
  2. 5 Years of Government Sales/ DOT Sales
  3. 5 Years of technical writing of engineering specifications
  4. Market territory account management experience
  5. Excellent computer skills, planning, and organizational
  6. Expert consultative selling skills in establishing specifications and standards

Location: North Carolina and Tennessee

Sales Territory: North Carolina and Tennessee

Travel: May include up to 50% domestic

Relocation: Is authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
