Day & Zimmermann in Hawthorne, NV, seeks a Property Book Officer to administer the approved Property Management System for government-furnished and contractor-owned property at Hawthorne Army Depot. You will manage accountability, inventory, and disposition while ensuring data accuracy and audit readiness.

The role requires interpreting federal and DoD property requirements, coordinating inventories, and producing reports for auditors and leadership.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; postsecondary education may help but not required.
• 3+ years of experience in property accountability or related fields.
• Familiarity with government property rules and auditable records.
• Ability to reconcile inventories and support loss investigations.
• Experience using property systems and office software.

Responsibilities

• Maintain approved Property Management System for government- and contractor-owned property.
• Create and update auditable property records; support acquisitions, receipts, and dispositions.
• Coordinate physical inventories; investigate discrepancies and document corrections.
• Conduct monthly reviews and annual system analyses to ensure compliance and risk control.
• Prepare reports for government agencies, leadership and auditors; improve procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned or as needed.
