Job summary

Crowe is seeking an experienced Lead Government Consultant to join our Public Sector practice. You will lead projects to modernize government HR/Payroll systems, mentor teams, and deliver actionable recommendations.

The ideal candidate has 5–8 years in management consulting, certification like CBAP/PMI-PBA/PMP, and proven Agile—plus strong communication and stakeholder engagement. We welcome candidates from across the United States, including those not near a Crowe office.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree and 5–8 years of management consulting experience.
• Current certification CBAP, CSM, PMI-PBA, or PMP.
• Deep HR/Payroll processes knowledge.
• Experience implementing payroll or HCM software, including config and testing.
• Experience using ALM tools (JIRA, DevOps, ELM).
• Experience in a structured Agile or Scrum environment.
• Proven ability to lead in a matrixed environment.
• Strong experience with public sector clients.
• Strong analytical thinking, attention to detail, and quantitative skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• MS Office proficiency.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently or collaboratively.
• Track record of delivering high-quality work under deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with public sector clients to design and implement processes.
• Lead and mentor business analyst teams in process analysis.
• Analyze operations and formulate actionable improvement recommendations.
• Facilitate stakeholder meetings to gather requirements.
• Align policies with configured functionality through analytical research.
• Apply Agile to write user stories and monitor development progress.
• Support testing and reconciliation from a business perspective.
• Deliver high-quality reports and client presentations.
• Collaborate with project managers to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Support proposal development and business development efforts.
