Job summary

La Familia seeks a resourceful writer to secure funding across the communities we serve. The Institutional Giving Specialist I will lead government proposals and select private foundation applications, translating complex concepts into persuasive narratives and managing submissions from research to award.

Collaborating with Finance, Operations, and cross-functional teams, you will build a forward-looking pipeline, monitor deadlines, and ensure funder requirements are met.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• Hands-on grant/proposal writing experience, government RFP/NOFO exposure preferred.
• Strong writing, editing, and synthesis skills under tight deadlines.
• Ability to identify opportunities and assess strategic fit for funders.

Responsibilities

• Lead government proposals and select private foundation applications from analysis to submission.
• Translate complex program data into persuasive narratives with accurate inputs from teams.
• Develop and manage grant calendars, budgets, and compliance inputs with Finance.
• Source and assess new funding opportunities and build a proactive pipeline.
