Job summary

Allied Universal in Columbia, SC is seeking a Government Facility Security Officer (Full Time) to protect government locations and support staff. This unarmed security role requires a valid driver’s license, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a commitment to safety and service.

You’ll perform patrols, monitor access points, document incidents, and respond calmly to emergencies while following site procedures.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with laws.
• Allied Universal will conduct background checks consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen where permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state/local laws and regulations.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, patrol logs, and incident documentation.

What You'll Do

• Provide customer service to facility staff, visitors, and authorized personnel while carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Conduct regular and random unarmed patrols of assigned buildings, grounds, access points, and perimeter areas to help deter unauthorized activity and identify concerns.
• Observe and report unusual activity, prohibited items, property concerns, and policy violations to appropriate facility personnel.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, following site procedures and notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Maintain accurate daily activity reports, patrol logs, and incident documentation in accordance with site requirements.

Minimum Requirements

• A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
