Job summary

National Rural Electric Cooperative Association is seeking a senior education leader to advance the governance education portfolio. You will design, develop, and deliver high-impact learning experiences for a 7,000-member board community, leveraging modern instructional design and diverse delivery channels.

Hybrid work from the Arlington, VA headquarters is available, with quarterly travel and collaboration across departments and events.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, communications, business, accounting, or related utility field.
• Seven or more years designing content for in-person and online programs and conferences.
• Experience using competency frameworks to develop curricula and programs.
• Experience with Articulate 360 and tools like InDesign, PowerPoint, Adobe Premiere.
• Proficient with a Learning Management System (LMS) for delivery of programs.
• Experience in a member-based association's educational department; externals projects a plus.
• ATD/ASAE certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Knowledge of governance education and adult learning principles.

Responsibilities

• Research, design and develop innovative courses for board education portfolio.
• Lead cohesive learning portfolio blending in-person and digital experiences.
• Create learner-centered materials: presentations, guides, job aids, videos, simulations.
• Apply technology-driven strategies for online and in-person delivery.
• Recruit and coach 20+ contracted instructors with high-quality learning experiences.
• Define curriculum purpose, audience needs, and compelling value propositions.
• Evaluate program effectiveness and iterate curriculum based on feedback.
