Job summary

American Credit Acceptance is seeking a Compliance Analyst, Governance to administer governance activities, policy management, and document controls within the Compliance Management System, partnering with Legal, Risk, Operations, and business stakeholders to promote effective governance practices.

The role evaluates documentation, supports governance initiatives, tracks approvals and metrics, and helps ensure regulatory alignment and program effectiveness.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of applicable experience preferred.
• Excellent analytical skills, strong attention to detail, and ability to evaluate information, identify risks or gaps, and recommend solutions.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, manage multiple priorities, and drive work to completion with limited supervision.
• Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage competing deadlines and maintain clear tracking and accountability.
• Ability to comprehend policies, regulations, laws, governance standards, and document management requirements and apply them within established processes.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Compliance leadership, operating departments, Legal, Risk, and other business partners.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to summarize information clearly for internal and external parties.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, with the ability to learn and administer new systems.

Responsibilities

• Support governance administration activities for customer-facing template documents, ensuring adherence to governance standards and compliance requirements.
• Coordinate stakeholder reviews and approvals for new or revised templates, tracking approvals and maintaining change records.
• Partner with departments to verify use of current templates and identify workflow and version-control improvements.
• Perform periodic assessments of communication inventories to keep materials current and properly governed.
• Conduct substantive reviews of policies and procedures to assess completeness, clarity, and regulatory alignment.
• Administer policy lifecycle by monitoring review dates, statuses, and escalation as needed.
• Oversee publication and maintenance of compliance policies and procedures, including access, versions, and decommissioning.
• Prepare governance reporting, metrics, dashboards, and status updates for leadership.
• Support examinations, audits, inquiries, and information requests involving governance documentation.
