Job summary

Apex is seeking a Cloud Security Engineer to design, implement, and optimize secure cloud environments supporting U.S. government missions. You will work across AWS GovCloud, Azure, and hybrid/multi-cloud setups while ensuring NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, RMF, and DoD ILs compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in cybersecurity or related field, or 5+ years of cloud security experience.
• Hands-on security in AWS GovCloud, Azure, Google GCP, or multi-cloud environments.
• Experience with compliance standards (NIST, FedRAMP, RMF, DoD ILs) and secure DevSecOps.
• Strong communication and collaboration in fast-paced mission-critical settings.

Responsibilities

• Design secure cloud architectures across AWS GovCloud, Azure, and Google Cloud.
• Implement and maintain IAM/RBAC, ZTA, and encryption controls.
• Lead vulnerability assessments, threat intel, and incident response coordination.
• Integrate security into CI/CD pipelines and IaC (Terraform, CloudFormation).
• Develop SSP/SAR/POA&M artifacts and sustain RMF/NIST compliance.
